With mountains running like a curved, 700 km long spine through the center of Romania, you are never far from joy. Our playground is immense and we can fully enjoy it, snow cover being present for at least 120 days per year.
Ski touring, backcountry & freeride skiing, and snowshoeing are all available in various combinations usually starting November / December until as late as May/June in the higher Transylvanian Alps. A common experience when trekking or approaching the high mountains in Romania is meeting the locals, either lowering the hay on horse or oxen drawn sledges from the alpine meadows or taking out timber from the woods. The winter resorts (some of them of a very good quality) cover a tiny surface in the mountains, therefore there is a lot of space for improvising. Our guides for the winter activities tours are all authorized mountain guides, some of them also being IFMGA attested.
We make custom designed itineraries, so please contact us for sample tours or questions.
