Traditional cuisine
  Tour dossier Tour photos

The cultural mosaic that Romania is today is very much present in its cuisine. Germans, Turks, Greeks, Hungarians, Russians, Tartars, Szeklers, Poles, Bulgarians, Ukrainians and Serbs have all added something to the local flavor, their influence being present not only in the architectural style, but also in the mentality of local people and, of course, in the cuisine.

Our tours try to offer a sample of various culinary influences from different regions of Romania, including a wide range of experiences: from cooking with peasant families in villages to cooking lessons with chefs of well-known traditional restaurants, from cheese tasting in traditional sheepfolds to the experience of a meal prepared by monks in an Orthodox monastery, from salt mine visits to the cozy atmosphere of our friends’ organic grocery – a complete gastronomic experience spanning over two thirds of our country.

And, along the way, there are plenty of opportunities to taste Romanian wines, Romania being the 6thlargest wine producer in Europe.
